2026年8月15日，大华府浙江大学校友会（ZUAA-DC）举办了第24届求是论坛，主题为 “为改变发声：青年主导的特殊教育学生倡导行动”。论坛由大华府浙江大学校友会基金会主席吕萍博士致开幕词，随后由霍华德县特殊教育平等发展协会（SEEDS HC）主席Olivia Wu主持，并由大华府浙江大学校友会副会长娄文加博士担任主持人。活动汇聚了来自不同组织的青年领袖，共同探讨青年领导力、特殊教育倡导以及建设更加包容的社区。

本次线上论坛邀请了Ethan Huang（SEEDS HC包容与艺术事务副主席）、Sophie Huang（SEEDS Montgomery County创始人兼前任主席）以及Amy Sun（纽约Heartik主席）参加。每位青年领袖都分享了自己的成长经历、所在组织的使命，以及在为特殊教育学生及其家庭争取权益过程中积累的经验。

活动还举行了专题小组讨论，重点探讨特殊教育学生面临的挑战、青年在倡导工作中能够发挥的作用，以及赋予青年力量、帮助他们成为社区领导者的重要性。与谈嘉宾分享了在倡导工作中获得的重要经验，并展望了特殊教育事业的未来。

本次线上论坛强调了青年声音、社区合作、提高公众意识以及有意义的倡导行动的重要性，并鼓励年轻人主动行动，在自己的社区中推动积极改变。

Title: Voices for Change: Youth-Led Advocacy for Special Education Students

On August 15, 2026, the Zhejiang University Alumni Association, Greater Washington D.C. Chapter (ZUAA-DC) hosted the 24th Qiu Shi Forum, titled “Voices for Change: Youth-Led Advocacy for Special Education Students.” The forum was opened by Dr. Ping Lu, Chair of ZUAA-GWDC Foundation Inc. and then led by Olivia Wu, President of the Special Education Equal Development Society, Howard County (SEEDS HC), alongside moderator Dr. Wenjia Lou, Vice President of ZUAA-DC. The event brought together youth leaders from various organizations to discuss youth leadership, special education advocacy, and building more inclusive communities.

The webinar featured Ethan Huang, Vice President of Inclusion and Arts at SEEDS HC; Sophie Huang, Founder and former President of SEEDS Montgomery County; and Amy Sun, President of Heartik, based in New York. Each youth leader shared their personal journey, the mission of their organization, and their experiences advocating for students with disabilities and their families.

The event included a panel discussion focused on the challenges facing students with disabilities, the role young people can play in advocacy, and the importance of empowering youth to become leaders in their communities. Panelists shared key lessons learned through their advocacy work and outlined their hopes for the future of special education and disability inclusion.

The webinar highlighted the importance of youth voices, community partnerships, awareness, and meaningful advocacy, while encouraging young people to take initiative and create positive change in their own communities.

The Immediate-Past President of ZUAA-DC, Dr. Hao Li, gave the closing remarks to thank all the guest speakers for their excellent sharing and all the audience for their participation!
